The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant position is part of the JobCare/Urgent Care Department and is a full-time role working approximately 80 hours per two-week pay period with flexible hours.
The schedule may include weekend and holiday rotation and requires adaptability to physician schedules for vacations, time off, and call-offs.
This role provides advanced patient care under the general supervision of a physician, focusing on evaluating, treating, and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions while ensuring a seamless and efficient care experience.
Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Current license from the State Board of Nursing or Ohio State Medical Board to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Experience in patient counseling and education preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills Professional demeanor, initiative, and flexibility to meet patient care needs Key Responsibilities Plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in the JobCare/Urgent Care setting Examine and treat chronic and acute illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other conditions Order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures as applicable Write prescriptions and perform office procedures within scope of practice and protocols Refer patients to physicians when necessary Provide guidance and directions to nursing and ancillary staff to ensure quality care Maintain adherence to established nursing and medical standards, procedures, and practices Promote professionalism, patient safety, and high-quality patient care Wyandot Memorial Hospital is a proud, independent community hospital serving Upper Sandusky and the surrounding region since 1950.
