The role involves performing and supporting a variety of image-guided radiologic procedures and providing comprehensive pre- and post-procedural patient care. Additionally, the APP supports departmental workflow, triage, and care coordination between radiologists and referring providers.
Candidates must hold a current Georgia license as an FNP, NP, or PA and be certified by an accredited national board. Prior experience in radiology or interventional procedures is preferred.
Overview Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Radiology team at Piedmont Eastside. This is an exciting opportunity for a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience or strong interest in minimally invasive and image-guided radiologic procedures to become part of a high-performing, patient-centered practice. In this role, you will work closely with experienced radiologists and multidisciplinary clinical teams to support efficient, safe, and exceptional patient care.
As a Radiology APP, you will play a vital role in performing and supporting a wide range of image-guided procedures, providing comprehensive pre- and post-procedural care, and supporting departmental workflow and care coordination initiatives. Core Clinical Responsibilities Perform and support image-guided procedures, including: Thoracentesis Paracentesis Joint injections and aspirations Lumbar punctures Fluoroscopy procedures (e.g., barium swallow, upper GI series) Conduct pre- and post-procedure assessments Educate patients and families regarding procedures, risks, recovery, and follow-up care Collaborate closely with radiologists, nursing staff, and referring providers Document clinical encounters accurately and maintain thorough medical records Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings Additional Clinical and Procedural Scope (As appropriate, based on privileging, experience, and program needs) Central line and PICC line placement Image-guided biopsies (e.g., superficial and soft tissue) Drain management (placement follow-ups, exchanges, troubleshooting) Tube management (e.g., G-tubes, nephrostomy tubes) Operational & Workflow Support Assist with procedure triage and prioritization to improve department throughput Support inpatient and outpatient consult management, including IR consults as applicable Help optimize scheduling efficiency and patient flow within the Radiology department Care Coordination Facilitate coordination between Radiology, nursing, and referring providers Support discharge planning and post-procedure care pathways Ensure timely procedures, follow-up, and continuity of care Schedule & Work Environment Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM No weekends Minimal call requirements
Current licensure as an FNP, NP, or PA in the state of Georgia Certification by an accredited national board (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent) Prior Radiology or interventional procedure experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and procedural competence Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, respectful, and team-based care Business
