The LCSW provides clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients and families through psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and diagnostic assessments. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure integrated care and patient advocacy.
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Social Work and a valid LCSW license in Connecticut or LICSW in Rhode Island. Required experience includes 3,000 post-master's hours and 100 hours of clinical supervision for Connecticut licensure.

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a licensed, experienced professional who is the clinical expert in the assessment and treatment of patients, families and social work consultation to the interdisciplinary teams in a variety of inpatient and ambulatory settings in the Yale New Haven Health System. As the clinical expert, the scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will work collaboratively with members of the health care teams throughout the organization.
