About the role

Provide mental health screening, treatment planning, and counseling interventions for adults with serious mental illness and trauma in an outpatient clinic. Manage a clinical caseload, document services in Epic Systems, and coordinate care with internal and external providers.

The Mental Illness Recovery Center (MIRCI) is a nonprofit organization that assists homeless individuals, both adults and youth, with clinical needs and permanent housing, and is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Professional to join its Outpatient Team. Job Function: Under general supervision of the Director of Outpatient Services, provides mental health screening, treatment planning, individual and group counseling interventions for adults experiencing serious mental illness, trauma, and/or emotional problems in MIRCI's Outpatient Clinic.

  • Abilities: Thorough knowledge of methods, principles, and practices of evidence-based, therapeutic interventions; psychopathology and patient management within a psychiatric setting; group dynamics and human development; trauma-informed care; and client interviewing. Experience working with at-risk individuals experiencing homelessness. Ability to establish and maintain effective contact with individuals, families, and representatives of other professional disciplines, community partners, and other stakeholders. Understanding of community supports, including supportive services provided by other public and private agencies. Ability to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Minimum
  • Requirements: Master's Degree from an Accredited School of Counseling, Social Work, or Mental Health. South Carolina Licensure of Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) 2 years of experience in a clinical counseling program. Training in trauma-informed care is preferred

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Mental Health and a valid South Carolina LPC or LISW license. Candidates must have at least 2 years of clinical counseling experience and a valid driver's license.
