The Staff Technologist performs ultrasound procedures and provides essential patient care while exercising professional judgment. They are responsible for maintaining a clean department, following safety protocols, and collaborating with medical staff.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited sonography program with at least an associate degree and RDMS certification. Current CPR certification is required, and ARRT registration is preferred.
The Staff Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities, performs ultrasound procedures, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to Ultrasound procedures, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and the Medical Staff.
Demonstrates competency in all clinical components of diagnostic medical sonography, including the performance of examinations, delivery of safe and effective patient care, and application of proper imaging techniques.
1. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) 2. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) — preferred but not required 3. Current CPR Certification
1. Keep department clean and orderly fashion for fellow employees and patient guest.
2. Be able to perform basic patient care needs.
3. Follow hospital and department safety practices.
4. Adhere to hospital and department policies and procedures.
5. Perform exams to department, ordering provider, and radiologist interpreting the exam.
6. Conform to HIPPA regulations.
Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning personal, financial, medical and employment status of patients of HCCH and their families.
Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
Must participate in safety instructional programs.
Certified Residential Medication Aide/Personal Support Specialist (CRMA/PSS)
Domestic and Sexual Violence Counselor
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)
