Provide support and guidance to clients navigating the behavioral health system to overcome barriers in their recovery journey. Act as a case manager to connect individuals with essential community resources such as housing, healthcare, and employment services.
Must be a peer in recovery from addiction or mental health challenges with at least 2 years of recovery and a high school diploma. A valid driver's license is required, and CPRS certification is preferred or required within the first year.

BCCS believes that PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST’s play a crucial role in the recovery process as individuals attempt to navigate the behavioral health system.
Assist in this process by supporting and assisting the clients through the program. Assist the clients in gaining entitlements and accessing resources within the community. Provide guidance and assist clients in overcoming barriers and challenges in their recovery journey. Act as case managers and will assist clients in obtaining resources such as food, clothing, vouchers, housing, linkage to employment services, legal, linkage to healthcare, transportation, mental health, childcare, and social services. Provide crisis intervention and connect individuals to community resource services. Educate and empower individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system. Assisting individuals with self-care and self-awareness, encouragement and support, teaching coping skills, connecting clients to outside resources, and teaching the positive benefits of long-term recovery.
Qualifications for the position are: REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED: Must be over 18 years of age. REQUIRED: Valid driver's license with 2 points or less. May need to use your own vehicle if a BCCS car is not available. REQUIRED: Must be a Peer. BCCS employs a diverse workforce, and we especially encourage applications from those who are in recovery. This position requires that the candidate chosen for it is a peer. BCCS defines a peer as anyone who is in recovery from addiction to drugs, alcohol, or mental health. REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years in recovery PREFERRED: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS). If you are not certified, certification is required within the first year of employment.
