Collects clinical laboratory specimens through venipuncture and performs tasks related to patient registration and specimen processing. Provides logistical support and performs waived testing under general supervision.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and prefers 6 months to 2 years of related experience. Must possess Basic Life Support certification and have access to reliable transportation.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training preferred. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently may be required based on service location. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software. Certificates and Licenses: Must be accessible to appropriate and reliable transportation to perform essential duties and responsibilities. Certification required by the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support to include adult, child and infant. Certification will be provided if needed.
