Operate MRI equipment to perform diagnostic exams and ensure patient safety through proper positioning and immobilization. Maintain clinical records and collaborate with physicians to administer contrast media and provide patient care.
Must be a graduate of an ARRT approved school or accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program. Requires BLS/CPR certification and the ability to obtain MR registry within a specified timeframe after hire.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to adapt to clinical treatment and instructional aspect of care to all stages of the life cycle and to various states of health and disease. Selects and operates equipment as directed. Technologist set up equipment to provide the best information on exam as needed. Rotates within the department or other areas and by shift as required. Provides immobilizing devices as required. Provides immobilizing devices as required. Complies with established occupational BBF and TB exposure policies. Supports department and hospital-based CPI activities by actively participating in the CPI process. Acquires and maintains skill level in venipuncture therapy in accordance with department policy. Use of PACS and Syngo. Has knowledge of the hospital PACS system, to review and acquire current and previous images. Use of the Radiology Information System and Sorian Scheduling System. Has knowledge in performing the tasks of scanning documents, interactive documents, able to charge, revise, and add procedures. Assists physicians in administering contrast media. Technologist has needed items, contrast, amount to be injected available plus any other materials as directed by physician and/or radiologist. Assists in performing first aid as necessary. Technologist will possess skills and system for first aid as necessary and renew skills annually per job requirements. Maintains adequate records as directed on requisitions, etc. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness. Secures and returns supplies. Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Technologist insures that all guidelines are followed for the patient, co-workers and understand what requirements are necessary. May be responsible for specific areas of instruction for ancillary personnel. Technologist will cooperate in education for ancillary staff, students and whomever directed by supervisor or medical or Administrative Directors. Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination. Technologist will consistently provide sterile environment items to insure patient's and co-workers' well-being. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. Proper technical factors as exam, diagnosis indicates; technologist sets equipment as needed. Transfers and positions patients. Technologists moves patient into positions per exam, radiologist dictates. Addresses all patient information to ensure patient safety, and directs patients accordingly
Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT or ARDMS program. ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date. MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained. CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date.
