Requires a High School Diploma or GED, with CNA, CPR, or Home Health Care certifications preferred. Candidates must be physically able to lift residents and proficient in EHR software and Microsoft Office.
The Resident Wellness Assistant provides compassionate, hands-on support to residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and hygiene. This role emphasizes dignity, respect, and empathy, using techniques from Memory Care training to reduce stress and encourage cooperation. The Resident Wellness Assistant works closely with residents, families, and team members to promote comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude, demonstrates impeccable ethics and integrity. Ambulates or assists in ambulation of the residents to and from activities, dining room or other locations as needed. Assists with or perform personal hygiene tasks - brush teeth, comb hair, shave, etc. Lift residents as needed Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, and staff while maintaining confidentiality. Collaborate with the Wellness Director, care team, and healthcare providers to support individualized resident care plans. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe medication area and promote a supportive wellness environment. Provide attentive, compassionate service that respects residents’ mobility, cognitive, and sensory needs. Build meaningful relationships with residents and team members while upholding ethics and integrity.
Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED Home Health Care, CNA, and/or CPR certification preferred. Skills and Qualifications: Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to high-quality patient care. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork abilities. Great time management skills and attention to detail. Technologically proficient, especially in Microsoft Office and EHR software. Effective verbal and written English communication skills, especially for clear written documentation. Sound judgement and a strong ethical foundation in decision-making. Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods. Ability to move comfortably and safely, which can include lifting, bending, stretching, squatting, etc. Ability to safely support resident mobility and perform physical duties associated with caregiving.
