Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island is a state-of-the-art, inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of a severe injury or illness. Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.
How you’ll contribute
The Physical Therapist (PT) in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with injuries, illnesses, or functional impairments to restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall independence.
This role develops individualized treatment plans and delivers targeted therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing strength, balance, and functional movement.
The PT collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to support patient progress and discharge planning, while providing education to patients and caregivers on ongoing care and home exercise programs.
Accurate and timely documentation, along with adherence to regulatory and safety standards, is essential.
Strong clinical skills and the ability to build rapport with patients are critical to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic rehab setting.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited physical therapy program with a current license to practice and BLS/CPR certification. Experience in inpatient rehabilitation is preferred.
