The Surgical Technologist II prepares the operating room and manages surgical instruments and supplies to support surgical procedures. They are responsible for maintaining sterile fields, providing basic patient care, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure safe operations.

Job Requirements Overview Under direct supervision, the Surgical Technologist II supports surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, managing surgical instruments and supplies, and assisting the surgical team. Key responsibilities include preoperative patient preparation, maintaining sterile fields, ensuring proper sterilization of instruments, inventory management, and providing basic patient care. The position requires collaboration with nursing staff, updating surgeon preference lists, orienting new technologists, and contributing to the development of departmental policies and procedures, all while strictly adhering to established protocols to promote efficient and safe surgical operations.

Work Experience

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program is required.

Experience

  • 2 years’ experience (in lieu of training program).
  • Licensure/Certifications: CPR certification is required.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and completion of a Surgical Technologist training program, or 2 years of relevant experience. CPR certification is a mandatory requirement for this position.
