The coordinator ensures timely on-site response and assessment of potential organ donors while collaborating with hospital staff to maintain donation opportunities. They are responsible for proactive rounding, early identification of donor referrals, and providing support to donor families.
Requires an EMT-P certification, an associate or bachelor's degree in nursing, or a degree in a medically related field. Candidates should have one to two years of related experience and strong communication skills.
The Donation Services Coordinator (DSC I) will ensure timely on-site response, assessment, and evaluation of potential organ donors, as well as communicating with hospital staff to maintain opportunity for donation. The DSC I will be responsible for proactive rounding and early identification of donor referral potential.
Work Hours Full time. Monday-Friday including weekends, nights, and holidays based on regional needs. May be required to work 8 hour or 12-hour shifts0 May require call shifts to cover evening, weekend, holidays based on regional staffing needs.
Education and Experience Requires strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the flexibility to work odd hours. EMT-P certification or Diploma, associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing or a BS in a medically related field. One to two years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
