The pharmacist is responsible for interpreting and assessing medication orders to ensure patient safety and appropriate therapy. They provide drug information to healthcare staff and maintain all required documentation for prescriptions and controlled substances.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a PharmD from an NABP accredited college. A valid state registered pharmacist license and prior experience in institutional pharmacy are required.
Possess knowledgeable understanding of current medication information, health care concepts and all regulations relative to the practices of institutional pharmacy. Interpret and assess new and refill order requests accurately to ensure appropriate therapy and maintain patient safety. Clarify inappropriate physician orders when necessary. Prepare and complete all appropriate documentation required on orders, prescriptions, controlled substance records, general workflow, etc. Provide physicians, nursing staff, and public with drug information such as drug selection, dosage, proper administration, etc. Work Schedule Options 7/7 on/off - hours will 7:30pm to 5:30am Monday-Friday 9pm - 5:30am
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from NABP accredited College of Pharmacy. Institutional pharmacy experience required.
