Performs interpretive and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis using CT scanners and x-ray units. Responsible for developing and monitoring procedures for effective unit utilization and providing quality radiographic images.
Requires an Associate degree in Radiology Technology, ARRT license, CRT license, and a California State Certification. Preferred experience includes one to three years in radiologic procedures and at least one year of CT or acute hospital experience.
Overview Under the direction of the department manager or designee, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. Participates in technical duties directly involved with the CT scanner including developing, initiating, training and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of this unit as well as other portable and stationary x-ray units.
This individual will perform in the capacity of CT/Radiology Technologist. To perform all required special procedures in the radiology department, operating specialized equipment; as well as routine procedures providing quality radiographic images.
Minimum education, A.A. degree in Radiology Technology or equivqlent approved A.M.A. program. Required Licenses/Certifications: CRT License and Fluoroscopy Permit. Valid California State Certification license in unlimited diagnostic radiology services. ARRT License required. CT Certification preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. MAB/AB508 Certificate. Minimum work experience one to three years of radiologic and special procedures experience preferred. One year minimum experience in performing CT or previous acute hospital experience preferred. Experience with care for all age groups as neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatrics.
