Greater Baden Medical Services (GBMS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare across Southern Maryland.
With 9 clinical sites across Prince George's, Charles, and St.
Mary's counties, we serve over 18,000 patients each year.
We provide fully integrated care that includes primary care, pediatrics, women's health, Title X family planning, dental care, behavioral health, WIC, pharmacy services, and the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program.

The physician at Greater Baden Medical Services (GBMS) is responsible for providing direct patient care and care consultation for a panel of patients as well as patients at GBMS.
The physician practices in a team-based care model and collaborates with other members of the team to care for a panel and a population of patients.
The physician refers patients for medical care management and care coordination services with internal staff and/or with other agencies.
The Physician is responsible for timely follow up of specialty referrals and diagnostic testing.
The Physician prioritizes meeting and exceeding quality care measures as identified by GBMS.

Provides comprehensive physical assessment of patients ages 0 years to 21 years and evaluates the outcome of patient care.
2.
Prescribes or recommends forms of treatment such as pharmaceutical (drug) therapy, physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
3.
Conducts age appropriate risk assessments and developmental assessments in accordance to AAP and Maryland Healthy Kids.
4.
Assures quality of patient care by participating in the organization’s Performance and Quality Improvement activities.
5.
Advocates and orders immunizations according to current AAP, ACIP and/or CDC guidelines.
6.
Participates in vaccine management and storage training.
7.
Arranges referrals, consultations, therapeutic services, and confers with other specialist on course of care and treatment.
8.
Establish medical diagnosis for common short-term and chronic stable health problems.
9.
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
10.
Order and perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and corrective measures.
Prescribe drugs 11.
Provide same-day care as required.
12.
Refer patients to appropriate licensed physicians or other health care providers as needed.
13.
May refer patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

Provides direct patient care as needed and appropriate to serve the community in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and values 15.
Provides appropriate documentation of clinical care provided in a timely manner.
This includes maintenance of patient charts in accordance with clinic protocols, and timely documentation of clinical procedures on encounter forms.

Complies with regulations regarding consultations and other services as required by patients’ insurance coverage.

Complies with Joint Commission standards for ambulatory care.
18.
Complies with Patient Centered Medical Home standards and guidelines 19.
Performs timely entry into, and manipulation of, the Electronic Health Record.

Completes chart documentation timely in accordance with the company policy.

Complies with the organizations training requirements and risk management plan/programs.

Provides clinical leadership and acts as a resource to other members of the health care team, patients, or other members of the community.

Provides clinical supervision and acts as a resource to nurse practitioners working in the clinic as appropriate.
3.
Works with center manager to facilitate smooth operation of clinic flow.
4.
Cooperates with compliance review activities.
5.
Submits information needed for credentialing files in a timely manner.
6.
When needed, assists the Safety Officer with employee health activities, especially in the event of an exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
7.
Participates in team/staff meetings; attends in-service meetings and applicable workshops.
8.
Performs any and all other duties required to provide for optimal patient care.

Physical and Mental Demands
