Provides direct patient care in the scrub and monitor positions within the Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab. Responsible for operating high-technology equipment and coordinating patient flow and inventory management.
Requires graduation from a Paramedic program or a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology school. Must hold a Virginia license as a Paramedic or Certified Surgical Technologist, along with BLS and ACLS certifications.
Cardiovascular Technologist I is an entry level professional in the Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab, with direct patient care during these procedures in the scrub and monitor positions. The technologist is responsible for helping develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Cardiovascular labs. Responsible for performing specialized technologist roles within the Cardiovascular procedure setting. Operates high technology equipment and utilizes products under the direct supervision of a qualified physician to assist with procedures performed.
for this position include but are not limited to monitoring and scrubbing roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within scope of practice, inventory management and schedule coordination.
