Physical Therapist - CHOR Petersburg Therapy Center - TTWP (12 Week Contract)

• The Physical Therapist TTWP is primarily responsible for the delivery of physical therapy care to the patient population to which she/he is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record.
• The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient populations.
• The Physical Therapist TTWP provides instruction to OT/PT support staff, PT students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members.
• Therapists may rotate through our various clinical service areas.
• Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Physical Therapist Experience PREFERRED: N/A Education/training REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy Education/training PREFERRED: Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Successful challenge of the VCUHS Physical Therapy Clinical Ladder Independent action(s) required: Patient evaluation and implementation of intervention programs, discharge planning.
• Ordering equipment.
• Representing department at rounds and discharge conferences.
• Scheduling and charging patients.
• Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Employee may have supervisory responsibilities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, students, and volunteers.
• Employee is a member of a self-directed team and applies his/her knowledge and experience in daily clinic problem solving.
• The team will bring unresolved issues to departmental manager for assistance and guidance in their resolution.
• Additional position requirements: Employee is expected to share in weekend and holiday schedule expectations of the department or have a fluctuation of daily work hours from 8 AM to 7 PM based on patient population needs.
• Age Specific groups served: Pediatrics, Adolescence, Adult, Geriatric Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate): Physical - Lifting 50-100 lbs.
