Requires a minimum of one year of ICU experience as a veterinary technician. A Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential is preferred but not required for candidates with strong clinical skills.
Veterinary ICU Technician – Surgical Patients: Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) – Annapolis, MD
Minimum 1 year as a veterinary technician, RVT preferred but not required We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual to join our busy surgical specialty practice and care for our patients in the ICU. Our Annapolis location shares a 28,000 sq. ft. building with other veterinary practices: internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, and a 24-hour emergency clinic.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated technician with strong clinical skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment and is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Possibility of rotating schedule every other week, with 7 days off in a row while still working 36 hrs each week Three 12-hour shifts per week
Job Summary The ICU Technician promotes a professional, patient-focused environment within the ICU and plays a vital role in supporting our surgeons with the care of postoperative and critical surgical patients. This position requires strong independence, excellent clinical judgment, and compassionate care.
The ICU Technician works closely with surgeons and collaborates with all CVSS team members to ensure the highest standards of patient care, communication, and teamwork.
Job Requirements Minimum of 1 year ICU experience as a veterinary technician Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred; however, applicants with strong ICU experience will be considered Commitment to CVSS’s mission, vision, and values Demonstrated excellence in nursing care and critical thinking Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-intensity environment Strong time-management skills, initiative, and task prioritization Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations
Knowledge & Skills Proficient in calculating drug dosages and administering IV medications and fluids Skilled in venipuncture & IV catheter placement Strong patient monitoring and nursing care abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills
