The Speech Therapist role is part of the EverTrue Home healthcare team and is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in older adults in their home setting; The Speech Therapist will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving communication and/or swallowing abilities. 1. Conducts comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency disorders, and cognitive impairment including memory impairment 2. Develops and implements personalized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals 3. Provides therapy to improve articulation, language development, voice quality, fluency, and cognitive impairment including memory impairment 4. Educates patients and their families on exercises to stimulate brain function and improve areas such as attention, focus and memory 5. Educates patients and their families on compensatory strategies and problem-solving techniques to help manage cognitive or memory deficits 6. Educates patients and their families on communication strategies and techniques 7. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care 8.
