The optometrist is responsible for conducting comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing sight problems, and prescribing corrective lenses or medications. They also focus on building long-term patient relationships through education and providing pre- and postoperative care.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution. Additionally, they must have successfully passed all required optometric state boards.
