Job Title LPN – Geriatric Psych Unit Location Garfield Hts Facility Marymount Hospital Department Gero Psych-Marymount Hospital Job Code G18005 Shift Days Schedule 7:00am-7:30pm Job Summary Job Details Serving the needs of Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County, Marymount Hospital is an acute care, faith-based hospital.

Marymount Hospital’s Geriatric Psych Unit offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency programs and patient services, such as medication management, structured therapeutic programming, recreational activities, nutrition and medication education, and multi-sensory stimulation therapy.

As an LPN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population.

In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: Collect, document and report patient data and observations.

Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.

Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.

Perform routine laboratory tests.

Educate patients and family members.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of patient care experience.

Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.

Involves extensive standing and walking.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program with a current Ohio LPN license and BLS certification. One year of patient care experience is preferred.
