Requirements summary
Requires a Florida State Nursing Assistant Certification and active Florida CPR Certification within six months of hire. Excellent English communication skills are required, and prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Moorings Park is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing the daily personal care services to assigned residents. It is the CNA’s responsibility to maintain bodily and emotional comfort to the assigned residents and assist them to their maximum potential in all activities of daily living. The CNA abides by and follows nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of the facility and local, State and Federal regulations.

Contributions
Participates in and receives the nursing report for all resident assignments upon reporting for duty.
Provides personal hygiene to the resident in accordance with the resident’s plan of care and as directed by the nurse, including bathing, oral care, grooming, dressing, and nail care.
Serves between meal and bedtime snacks.
Assists with the application of slings, elastic stockings, and splints.
Answers resident calls promptly. Checks each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
Provides for the resident’s comfort. Turns resident every 2 hours or as ordered and ensures proper body alignment for those who cannot move.
Ensures resident safety. Follows facility procedures when ambulating or transferring residents and appropriately places the call light, telephone, and water pitcher in reach of the resident.
Keeps residents’ environment neat, clean, and safe. Keeps hallways clear and floors free of debris.
Cleans, disinfects, and returns all resident care equipment to its designated storage area after each use.
Observes and reports changes in the resident’s condition to the Staff Nurse. Immediately notify the Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Supervisor of any resident leaving or missing from the facility.
Reports all accidents, incidents, and bruising observed on the shift immediately.

Documents intake and output, food intake, bowel movement, vital signs, and daily resident care on appropriate forms in a timely manner as directed by the facility policy.
Completes the admission and discharge of residents. Ensures that the resident’s room is ready (i.e., bed made, admission kit available, water pitcher). Greets residents and escorts them to their room. Makes resident comfortable and stores resident’s clothing and completes inventory sheet for all resident belongings.
Monitors vital signs in the direction of the nurse.
Maintains infection control procedures for proper trash disposal, dirty linen transport, wash hands before and after performing any service for the resident.
Demonstrates respect for the resident by ensuring that all nursing care is provided in privacy. Honors the resident’s refusal of treatment or assistance. Reports to the nurse for assistance in meeting the resident’s needs.
Reports all allegations of resident abuse and /or misappropriation of resident property.
Charges appropriate nursing supplies to the resident using the sign-out system.
Attends and participates in scheduled training and in-service classes and staff meetings. Shows initiative with respect to increased competency levels.
Job Requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
Florida State Nursing Assistant Certification is required.
Prior experience in a health care facility is preferred but not required.
Active Florida CPR Certification is required within six months of employment.
