The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and develops individualized treatment plans to help them regain independence. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and provide training to staff and caregivers to ensure safe discharge planning.
Candidates must hold an active California Occupational Therapist license and a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute care and proficiency with PointClickCare or Casamba are preferred.
The Staff Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients, collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and maintains accurate documentation of therapy services. This role also provides education and training to staff and caregivers to support patient success and safe discharge planning. Occupational Therapist Responsibilities Evaluate patients within 24 hours or 1 business day of physician referral Develop individualized treatment plans and obtain physician approval Provide occupational therapy treatments per physician orders Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), aides, and students Communicate patient progress and care plans with interdisciplinary team members Participate in care conferences, rehab meetings, and discharge planning Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations Train nursing staff, restorative aides, patients, and caregivers Recommend and facilitate ordering of adaptive and durable medical equipment Maintain therapy equipment and report repair needs promptly Support a positive and compassionate patient care environment Qualifications Active Occupational Therapist license in California Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy preferred Skilled nursing or post-acute experience preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience with PointClickCare and Casamba preferred Passion for patient-centered rehabilitation and quality outcomes Apply Today!
