As our fourth doctor, you'll join a collaborative group that truly values relationships — with clients, pets, and one another.
  • About Us: Mt. Scott Animal Clinic has been proudly serving the inner Southeast Portland community for over 50 years. We're known for delivering exceptional care with compassion, respect, and integrity. Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, dental, and vision coverage with company HSA contributions, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, generous paid time off, annual CE allowance, license and liability coverage, and more. Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling, rotating Saturday shifts, and Sundays off — so you can enjoy everything Portland has to offer. Freedom to Practice Your Way: No corporate protocols or mandatory formularies. We trust our doctors to make the best decisions for their patients. Supportive, Fear-Free Environment: Our team is actively pursuing Fear-Free Certification and prioritizes low-stress, compassionate care. Life in Portland, Oregon: Whether you're into hiking forest trails, trying the latest food cart, or exploring unique neighborhoods, Portland has something for everyone. From weekend adventures on the coast or in the mountains to vibrant local culture, art, and food — you'll find plenty of reasons to love living here. About Lakefield Veterinary Group: As part of the Lakefield Veterinary Group, a family-owned organization, Mt. Scott Animal Clinic benefits from the backing of a larger network while maintaining full autonomy at the hospital level. That means you get the resources and support you need — without sacrificing your independence or values. Why You'll Love Being Part of Our Team: A kind, collaborative culture where you're encouraged to grow and thrive. A dedicated support team that helps you focus on what you do best — caring for pets. Opportunities to give back globally through our partnership with World Vets. Competitive compensation, fantastic benefits, and a team that truly feels like family. Ready to Join Us? Market context

Oregon associate veterinarian role

Associate veterinarian roles in Oregon are often shaped by steady demand for general practice clinicians, especially in clinics that value independent medical judgment and low-stress, compassionate care. This type of position can be competitive because employers look for a DVM who can work autonomously while still fitting a collaborative team culture; on this platform, job requirements and benefits are AI-summarized from the original job description, saving candidates research time. Before applying, review whether your experience matches the clinic’s approach to patient handling and note how you would describe your independent decision-making in an interview.
