Perform radiographic examinations and diagnostic imaging using various technical aspects while ensuring high-quality patient care. Assist physicians during procedures and maintain accurate patient documentation and billing information.
Requires a High School Diploma and enrollment in or completion of a JCERT accredited Radiology program. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required within 60 to 90 days of hire.
Essential Functions: Consistently demonstrates a thorough knowledge of patient positioning, principles of CR/DR, Fluoroscopy, quality control, image processing, and demonstrates the ability to plan own work. Assists physicians in performing procedures. Provides learning environment. Documents appropriate information in patients chart. Ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly. Examines requisition for appropriate orders, exam date, indication for exam. Reprints corrected requisition. Performs daily Quality Assurance and temperature documentation. Prepares the correct procedure tray when assisting physician. Consistently provides quality diagnostic exams for interpretation. Competently works within required computer programs (i.e. PACs, RIS, Vrad) as well as manual downtime processes. All other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Required: Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies Certification - Radiology Program currently enrolled/completed – JCERT Accredited Institution/Facility Or holds a certificate from a limited tech program or will be enrolled in a limited tech program or enrolled in an accredited Radiology Technologist program; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer. Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.
