Provide quality nursing care to residents according to physician orders and facility protocols. Lead and direct CNAs in the delivery of direct resident care and manage admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Requires a current RN license and valid CPR certification. One year of nursing experience and wound care certification are preferred.
Description To provide quality nursing care to residents as prescribed by our physician and in accordance with established facility protocol, local, state, and federal regulations. To lead and/or direct CNAs in the delivery of direct resident care.
1. Assess the overall status of the residents and document in the medical record. 2. Monitor the residents activity and provide nursing care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, local, state and federal regulations as well established facility protocol. 3. Coordinate, prepare for and assist with new admissions, transfers, and discharges. 4. Communicate with residents, family members, other disciplines and health care professionals regarding the status of the resident. 5. Take and record vital signs. 6. Administer medications and treatments and document accordingly. 7. Schedule job assignments and duties for CNAs. 8. Take report at the beginning of the shift in order to receive an update on the residents under your care. 9. Be observant for changes in a resident ’s condition and notify the Supervisor (if applicable), physician and family. 10. Visit all residents at various times during your tour of duty. 11. Supervise, and assist with the feeding of residents and administer the tube feedings. 12. Order medications from the pharmacy as indicated. 13. Carry out all physician orders including making out lab slips, x-ray requests and MARs. 14. Provide routine nursing documentation as per established facility protocol. 15. Count controlled drugs at the beginning and end of the shift. 16. Check the Twenty Four Hour Report daily in order to be aware of changes in the residents condition and/or plan of treatment. 17. Assist with 1YIDS+ and Total Care Plan meetings as indicated Current RN License Valid CPR certification. Wound care certification preferred. One year experience in nursing preferred.
