The Unit Secretary supports the nursing department by managing resident health records and coordinating the move-in process for new residents. Key duties include transcribing physician orders, scheduling medical appointments, and maintaining electronic health records.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a medical terminology course and six months of residential care nursing support experience preferred. Candidates must be able to perform light physical work and pass pre-employment screenings.
The Unit Secretary duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the nursing department with managing resident health records and tasks associated with the move-in of new residents and/or residents transitioning between levels of care. Duties and assignments may vary based on evaluation of community needs.
The starting salary for this position ranges from $18.75 to $22.96. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
High school graduation or G.E.D. Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
Six months experience providing nursing support in a residential care community preferred.

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
