The COTA implements occupational therapy services and treatment plans as delegated and supervised by a Registered Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include evaluating patient functional status, documenting progress, and instructing patients and caregivers in daily activities.
Candidates must be a graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum and hold a valid state license. Additional requirements include current CPR certification and a reliable, insured vehicle for travel.

Summary Gives Report To: Registered Occupational Therapist The certified occupational therapy assistant contracted through the organization is responsible to the registered occupational therapist that is responsible for the implementation of standards of care for occupational therapy services and for adherence to all conditions outlined in the Service Agreement. The certified occupational therapy assistant performs only those services planned, delegated, and supervised by the registered occupational therapist.
Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum. Licensed by the State Board. Possesses and maintains current CPR certification. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
