The professional provides individual psychosocial rehabilitation services to adolescent and adult clients to improve social functioning and daily living skills. Responsibilities include developing treatment goals, providing crisis intervention, and maintaining detailed service documentation.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid Louisiana Driver's License. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a human services field such as Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology is required.
The Mental Health Specialist/Professional is responsible for rendering mental health services under the supervision of a LMHP and Program Director, including but not limited to:
Render individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services to both adolescent and adult clients; Assist clients in developing goals for treatment; Assist clients in restoring, rehabilitating, and developing social and interpersonal skills; Identify, enhance, and establish support networks, community awareness, coping strategies, and improve functioning in the individuals social environments (home, work, school); Help restore, rehabilitate, and support the development of daily living skills; Help improve each clients self-management of the negative effects of psychiatric or emotional symptoms; Assists clients in identifying, effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors (triggers) that lead to functional impairments; Provide crisis intervention to ensure the safety of the client and others; Develop, sign and date service documentation within 24-hours of services; Ensure attendance at meetings, trainings, and supervision administered by the agency; Serving as a team member for service planning and actively participate in team coordination and review in an effort to ensure cohesiveness in services rendered on behalf of the agency for the population served; Participates in the agency's Performance Improvement initiative; Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with other clinical/administrative staff, as needed for client related concerns; Assess, review and/or monitor a recipient's status in relation to rehabilitation; Identify, report, and maintain weekly appointments for community resources.
