Perform initial diagnostic testing using specialized ophthalmic equipment to prepare patients for exams. Handle administrative tasks including document scanning, verifying referral letters, and managing patient charts.
Requires a high school diploma and preferably at least one year of experience in a medical or ophthalmology practice. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the ability to function in a high-paced environment.

The Ophthalmic Tester is able to handle a wide range of duties while using equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam.
Duties/Responsibilities: · Complete all the testing for OCT, anterior segment photography, Visual Field, Fundus photography
· Upload any results of imaging and testing
· Scanning documents, prior authorizations, other paperwork into patients’ chart
· Verifying letters (Diabetes, Plaquenil, Referral, etc.) have been sent to appropriate Doctor from previous day, and if not sending the letter
· Calling for labs (Quest) when needed when scribe is unavailable
· Recalls in-between patients and downtime
· Interact with all patients using a high level of respect and professionalism
· Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information
Requirements: · Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to interact with patients and employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to multi-task and function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum one year of experience in a medical practice or hospital setting preferred
Experience in an ophthalmology practice preferred
Physical Requirements: Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (specifically keyboarding and writing),
standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds.
Travel to other offices, including Surgery Center, as needed
