Provide medically necessary personal care and community living supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental illness. Assist with activities of daily living, health management, and fostering community participation and social relationships.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid State of Michigan driver's license. Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs and be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides medically necessary, appropriate personal care and community living supports to persons with intellectual developmental disabilities, persons with severe mental illness, and/or individuals with co-occurring diagnosis. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
