Provide comprehensive genetic counseling, including risk assessment and test result interpretation, to assigned clients. Maintain professional relationships with referring clinicians and educate the community and clinical staff on genetic testing updates.
Requires a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling and certification from the CGC or ABGC. Preferred candidates have 5 years of experience across at least two specialties, including Oncology.
EDUCATION: Master's: Genetic Counseling CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: CGC-Certified Genetic Counselor OR ABGC-American Board of Genetic Counseling TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 year recent relevant experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of clinical applications and standards necessary to provide comprehensive, current genetic services and counseling. Familiar with input and data retrieval on computer database. Good communication and interpersonal skills, good writing ability. Knowledge and experience in the area of teamwork with health professionals.
