Monitor patients to ensure safety and assist with delegated nursing care and activities of daily living. Implement therapeutic and diversionary interventions to refocus patients and manage escalating behaviors.
A high school diploma is required, with a preference for one year of patient care experience or six months of nursing education. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Assists in maintaining patient and staff safety by monitoring patient and assisting delegated nursing care. Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors. Assists patients with ambulation, hygiene, nutrition, linen changes, and other activities of daily living. Identifies potential risks and early signs of escalating patient behaviors, such as agitation, confusion, and anxiety. Keeps patient and staff safety at the forefront, engaging the patient in reduction techniques to maintain safety. Incorporates problem solving and critical thinking skills to help implement behavioral interventions. Other duties as assigned.
