The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for collecting blood samples and performing various chemical and blood analyses. They also manage the overall operations of the cancer center clinical laboratory under the guidance of the laboratory manager.
A high school diploma and a certification from an approved phlebotomy training program are required. Previous experience in a multi-specialty clinic laboratory is preferred.
The Medical Laboratory Assistant collects blood samples using techniques to obtain specimens for the performance of various blood and chemical analyses. The Medical Laboratory Assistant analyzes specimens and is responsible for the overall operations of the cancer center clinical laboratory within the boundaries established by and the guidance given by the laboratory manager. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent, required Phlebotomy certification from an approved phlebotomy training program, required. Must provide a license number with an expiration date and certificate. Must maintain certification as required by certifying body. Previous experience in a laboratory at a multi-specialty clinic, preferred WORK SCHEDULE: Week 1 - Monday - Thursday 7:45AM - 3:30PM, Friday 7:45AM - 5:00PM Week 2 - Monday - Thursday 7:30AM - 4:00PM, Friday 7:30AM - 2:00PM Week 3 - Monday - Thursday 7:30AM - 5:00PM, Friday 7:30AM - 12:00PM
