The Advocate establishes relationships with community partners to provide supportive services, crisis intervention, and case management for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Responsibilities include facilitating peer support groups, assisting with CalVCB claims, and maintaining accurate client records.
Requires a BA/BS degree with 2 years of experience, or 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in domestic violence or human trafficking services. Candidates must possess a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a DOJ background check.

Primary duties include establishing and maintaining a presence at several community locations to build trusted relationships with community-based partners including the Black Child Legacy Campaign’s Community Incubation Leads and Child Protective Services. The Advocate provides supportive services to adult and youth victims of domestic and sexual violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. Services provided by the Advocate include emotional support, individual case management and supportive services, crisis intervention, facilitating educational and peer counseling groups and activities, advocacy, and referrals.
To succeed in this position, the Advocate should be a self-starter with enthusiasm, flexibility and motivation. The Advocate must be organized, have the willingness and ability to build and maintain positive relationships, facilitate groups and activities, be open minded and able to hold space for non-judgmental conversation and healing, as well as able to advocate confidently and hold appropriate boundaries.
