Summary Delivers psychiatric treatment, allowing integration of the mind and body with each person's social and environmental needs, in order to restore the patient to emotional/mental health.

Job Duties Identifies and reports potential problem areas regarding therapeutic environment to the Program Director.

Assesses patient as appropriate to the ages of the population being served.

Assists Social Work staff in the completion of Bio-Psycho-Social Assessments, Crisis Plans, and in Discharge Planning.

Identifies and communicates significant issues, progress, and dynamics to staff, treatment team, and physicians.

Manages emergency situations such as codes and unexpected/unusual incidents.

Participates in process improvement program that emphasizes continuous quality successes.

Participates in program development activities.

Participates in the development, implementation, or evaluation of the patient's plan of care.

Provides individual, group, and family counseling.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or related field. At Minimum experience in a college practicum in a clinical area is required and 1 year experience in a clinical environment. Knowledge of mental health counseling techniques, treatment modalities, procedures, and practices.

Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.

Examples

Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

Requirements
