The physician will evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions regarding patient care, working with high acuity patients and collaborating with CRNAs and residents. Responsibilities include providing anesthesia for various surgical cases and participating in a shared call model.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO and be board eligible or certified in Anesthesiology. They should also be able to obtain an unrestricted license to practice in Iowa and have the authority to prescribe medications.
Experience and proficiency with: trauma, vascular, neuro cases High acuity patients (ASA III & IV) Comfortable working with CRNAs and Resident Registered Nurse Anesthestists in a supervision model as well as doing own cases if needed. 24/7 call coverage/ shared call model In hospital cases: general surgery, trauma, neuro, vascular, interventional cardiology/EP, urology, healthy pediatrics Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
