Ensure senior participants with dementia have a safe and stimulating experience through assistance with daily living activities and social engagement. Responsibilities also include monitoring health changes, behavior management, and maintaining facility cleanliness.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a current Certified Nurses Aid (CNA) certification. Candidates should have three to six months of memory care experience and a valid Colorado Driver's License.

An overview of this position entails…This position is responsible for ensuring senior participants with dementia have a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable experience in the adult day program while their caregivers get a break.
1. Assist participants with activities of daily living to include toileting, walking, eating, and transferring based on the individual ability level and degree of dementia.
2. Initiate conversation and social interaction with participants all during the day and with families as they pick up and deliver participants.
3. Provide activity direction to include brain stimulating, physical, and social activities for participants throughout the day.
4. Observe and report health or behavior concerns/changes to Director and nurse.
5. Complete interventions and required documentation promptly, accurately, and legibly.
6. Provide behavior management techniques appropriate to dementia to diffuse anger or keep participants safe and reassured (i.e., distraction, redirection, validation).
7. Perform housekeeping duties to include but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, stocking supplies, disinfecting, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, cleaning and tidying all areas of the facility.
8. Assist with loading and unloading of participants in or out of transportation.
9. Maintain professional boundaries with all participants enrolled in any Hilltop program or residing at any of Hilltop’s facilities, all the while maintaining the dignity, confidentiality, and privacy rights of every participant.
10. Maintain professional behavior with co-workers and outside agencies.
11. Attend team meetings and in-service trainings as scheduled.

Education & experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), a current Certified Nurses Aid Certification (CNA), and three to six months memory care experience, and QMAP or Dementia Certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
