The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) is responsible for providing high-quality, culturally competent primary care services to infants, children, and adolescents at Tule River Indian Health Center, Inc. (TRIHCI). This role focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions, while ensuring alignment with Indian Health Service (IHS), AAAHC, and applicable federal and state standards. The PNP collaborates with medical and behavioral health staff to provide holistic care to Native American and underserved pediatric populations.
Duties: & Responsibilities:
1.
Perform comprehensive pediatric health assessments, including physical exams, developmental screenings, and behavioral evaluations.
2.
Diagnose and manage acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic pediatric conditions.
3.
Prescribe medications, immunizations, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with scope of practice and clinical protocols.
4.
Provide anticipatory guidance and health education to patients and families regarding nutrition, growth, safety, disease prevention, and development.
5.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health clinicians, case managers, and community health staff to ensure coordinated care.
6.
Document all clinical encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record (EHR).
7.
Monitor and ensure pediatric compliance with IHS immunization schedules and well-child visit standards.
8.
Refer patients to appropriate specialists or services as needed and follow up on care plans.
9.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, chart reviews, and care coordination meetings.
10.
Maintain compliance with AAAHC, IHS, HIPAA, and all other regulatory guidelines and clinic policies.

While performing the duties of this position, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is situated in a standard office environment within the health center as well as in a vehicle to travel through the community; there is little exposure to variations in the weather or other similar elements. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will primarily be stationed in the Medical area of the health center, in the community or on transport but will also move about the health center to meet with physicians, patients, and co-workers. Consequently, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner must:

Possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting (i.e. walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time).
