The Geriatric Care Aide provides compassionate, non-medical in-home support to seniors, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. This role focuses on companionship, assistance with daily activities, and basic household support rather than hands-on medical care. The aide follows an individualized care plan, observes and reports changes in the client’s condition, and works closely with the office team to ensure consistent, high-quality
Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support to senior clients in their homes. Assist with personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and safe transfers/mobility within a non-medical scope. Prepare simple, nutritious meals, offer assistance with eating as needed, and support any basic dietary preferences or restrictions. Perform light housekeeping tasks including tidying, dishes, laundry, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Offer medication reminders (no medication administration), appointment reminders, and help organize daily routines. Provide safe transportation or escort for errands, grocery shopping, and appointments when assigned. Observe and promptly report any changes in the client’s condition, mood, or safety to the office or on-call supervisor. Follow the care plan and company policies, including all infection-control, safety, and documentation standards
Experience in caregiving tasks such as personal care, medication assistance, and mobility support Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of elderly health issues, chronic conditions, and safety practices Ability to maintain accurate records and reports related to client care CPR and First Aid certification preferred High level of emotional intelligence, compassion, and patience High school diploma or equivalent; advanced training or certification in healthcare or caregiving is a plus The ability to multitask and work well under pressure
