Histology is the study of tissues - groups of cells working together to do the same thing.
Knowing what normal human tissue looks like and how it normally works is important for recognizing and treating different diseases.
This is an awesome opportunity to work in a laboratory setting!
Hours for this full-time position are Monday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Tuesday-Friday 10:00 am - 6:30 pm with Saturday rotation.
Responsible for assisting with daily histology duties.
Performs data entry functions to accession all tissue specimens.
Performs Gross Room tasks including specimen organization, numbering cassettes, and data entry as required.
Organizes cassettes in tissue processor and prepares it for processing.
Prepares routine solutions and assists in maintaining tissue processors.
Prepares and maintains stock of reagents for H & E stainer.
HS Diploma or equivalent Minimum of one year of histology experience required. Medical terminology and familiarity with handling biological specimens preferred. Requires eye-hand coordination and visual acuity necessary in processing and handling histology specimens.
