Requires a bachelor's degree in a health-related field and experience in drug and alcohol counseling and assessment. Candidates must pass criminal background checks, child abuse clearances, and a drug screen.
Description Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) has an excellent opportunity in Wexford, PA for an Assessment and Case Manager. This position provides the initial evaluation and level of care recommendation, schedules and coordinates treatment admissions, and completes the initial preauthorization process with payers. Travel is required to GRC's outpatient sites, mostly in the Pittsburgh region. This position receives frequent supervision, instruction, and training.
Completes initial client evaluations and assessments. Diagnoses substances use disorder(s) based on DSM 5 criteria. Recommends appropriate level of care based on ASAM criteria. Completes pre-certification process to authorize services with payers. Potential to network with treatment resources to develop and maintain referral source relationships. Participates in group team meetings. Participates in individual supervision every eight weeks. Attends mandatory in-services and trainings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Case management skills. Understanding of and ability to assess mental health issues. Public relations and public speaking abilities are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and organization skills. Computer literacy required. Ability to work within a team environment is critical.
Bachelor’s degree in health-related field. Experience in drug and alcohol counseling and assessment. Preferred Requirements Master’s degree Additional Requirements Pass PA Criminal Background Check. Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances. Pass Drug Screen. TB Test. Work Conditions Travel throughout the Pittsburgh PA region as required. Largely favorable working conditions. Position includes local travel and evening work hours. Minimal physical demands. Significant mental demands include interviewing, investigating, and diagnosing.
