The APP provides comprehensive inpatient care management and supports perioperative care for orthopedic trauma patients. Responsibilities include rounding with surgeons, managing new consultations, and assisting in operative cases.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited NP or PA program with current California licensure and DEA certification. Experience in orthopedics, trauma, or acute care is preferred.
Round daily with the on-call orthopedic trauma surgeon Evaluate and manage new orthopedic trauma consults Assist in the operating room Coordinate treatment plans and ongoing patient management Provide inpatient orthopedic trauma care and follow-up Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, therapists, and hospital teams Ensure timely documentation and communication regarding patient care plans Schedule & Practice Details 10-hour shifts On-site coverage daily from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Full-time schedule consists of 183 shifts annually No after-hours call responsibilities Additional shifts compensated at $781 per shift Compensation & Benefits Annual compensation: $142,923 Full benefits package including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Annual CME stipend Paid professional liability coverage Paid time off and CME time
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Current California NP or PA licensure DEA certification and appropriate prescriptive authority Orthopedic, trauma, surgery, or acute care experience preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity clinical environment Why San Jose?
