Provide sterile processing support within a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center. Ensure the availability of clean and sterilized instruments for various pediatric surgical specialties.
Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting serving children from 3 months to 20 years. Successful applicants must pass an occupational health assessment, drug screen, and background investigation.

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for supporting both the decontamination area and operating rooms within the ambulatory surgery center. This role includes the cleaning, decontamination, and reprocessing of reusable instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure patient safety and compliance with infection control standards. In addition, the Sterile Processing Technician manages inventory for both reprocessed and single-use supplies, prepares instrumentation and supplies for upcoming surgical procedures, and supports overall department supply and inventory management. This role upholds the mission of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota by delivering high-quality care in alignment with established standards for customer service, family-centered care, resource utilization, and infection prevention.
*One-year of sterile processing experience and/or experience in medical device reprocessing role or similar experience in an operating room *Sufficient familiarity with surgical instruments to be able to assemble surgical trays
*Graduate of Central/Sterile Processing Technical College program and/or certification in sterile processing preferred, but not required *Inventory management experience *BLS certification within 6 months of hire

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
