In this role, you will be instrumental in performing complex surgical procedures, providing pre-operative and post-operative care, and working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for our patients. Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and care Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop individualized care plans Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals Maintain accurate and timely patient records Stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic surgery techniques Participate in departmental meetings and case reviews Provide mentorship to junior medical staff as needed
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree Valid medical license to practice in the state of Athens Experience in cardiothoracic surgery is preferred Strong clinical and surgical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to patient-centered care and safety Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
Schedule: 5 days per month
Patient Census: 5 hospital encounters per day, or 25 per month
Emergent CABGs, aortic dissections, etc.
Support Staff: 2 surgeons, 5 surgical APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
