Provides essential support to nursing staff by delivering routine patient care, including hygiene assistance and positioning. Responsible for collecting patient data, obtaining vital signs, and performing phlebotomy for specimen collection.
Requires a high school diploma and completion of a nursing assistant, EMT, or medical assistant program. BLS certification and recent acute care experience are required, while Emergency Department experience is preferred.
30pm Under the supervision of a registered nurse, responsible for providing support to nursing staff and assisting in the delivery of patient care following hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care. Provides routine patient care services such as call light response; ambulating, transferring, and positioning; personal hygiene assistance. Collects, records, and reports various patient data. Obtains vital signs, blood glucose levels, bedside pregnancy testing, and reports changes in patient data to registered nurse. Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture or micro collection techniques, and assists nursing staff in collecting specimens from intra-vessel catheters.
