About the role

Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations and manages digital images for physician evaluation. Responsibilities include patient positioning, implementing charges, and assisting physicians during emergency on-call procedures.

Overview Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician.

Responsibilities include knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, proper patient positioning, scanning, digital image management for interpretations, implementation of patient charges, and assists physician as required.

Will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required.

Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible. registry eligibility.

Certification in diagnostic ultrasound through means of a registry is preferred within 2 years of employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required Education: Course in ultrasound technology with college prerequisites or sufficient on-the-job experience sufficient for registry eligibility. Certification in diagnostic ultrasound through means of a registry is preferred within 2 years of employment.

Requirements

Requires completion of an ultrasound technology course with college prerequisites or equivalent on-the-job experience. Registry certification in diagnostic ultrasound is preferred within two years of employment.
