About the role

Provide specialized foot and wound care to residents in long-term care facilities, including assessments and debridement. Collaborate with facility staff and physicians to monitor patient progress and optimize healing outcomes.

Position Details

  • Location: Ruston, Louisiana area

Responsibilities

  • Assess wounds and foot conditions and develop individualized care plans.
  • Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and other appropriate wound-care procedures.
  • Monitor wound healing, foot health, and patient progress.
  • Support pain management related to wounds and promote patient comfort.
  • Educate patients and facility staff on wound care, prevention, and foot-care practices.
  • Communicate with facility staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate and current clinical documentation.
  • Travel to designated long-term care facilities in the assigned area.
  • Required qualifications
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license valid for practice in Louisiana.
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills related to wounds and foot conditions.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage responsibilities across multiple facilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred qualification
  • Experience working in long term care settings

Requirements

Requires a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing and a current Nurse Practitioner license in Louisiana. A minimum of 2 years of experience in wound or foot care is required, with WOCN certification preferred.
