The Medical Assistant supports MDs, NPs, and PAs in performing clinical procedures and providing individualized care to patients of various ages. They are also responsible for operating, maintaining, and calibrating medical equipment.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records like Epic or Meditech is required.
The Medical Assistant I demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served by their department. Additionally, the MAI demonstrates competency in applying these principles when providing individualized care to specific patients. Assists the MD/NP/PA in performing procedures. Operates, maintains and calibrates all equipment.

Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
