The Respiratory Therapist evaluates patients to recommend and provide respiratory care for those with critical and complex medical conditions. Responsibilities include performing endotracheal tube procedures and providing education to patients and their families.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with an active CRT or RRT credential and state licensure. BLS certification is required, and ACLS must be obtained within six months of hire.
Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan. Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes. Promoting continuous quality improvement. Teaching and counseling patients/families. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements: Graduate of accredited program for Respiratory Therapy. Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent. Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED. BLS certification required. Current state licensure required. Student or Educational permit to practice acceptable based on individual state regulations. ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
